Saturday Socks

These soft, cozy socks are perfect for a nice relaxing weekend at home. They are thick enough to be cushy, yet thin enough to fit in your slip-on shoes or Uggs if you need to step out to get the newspaper or make a run to the store to get more snacks. Use alpaca or wool sock yarn with excellent drape. For size 7-8 use extra-fine sock yarn for a snug fit or regular sock yarn for a slouchy, loose fit. For size 8-9 use a regular sock yarn for a snug fit or heavier sock yarn for slouchy, loose fit. Reinforcement yarn is highly recommended for the toe and heel. Without it, the thickness of the heel and toe will not match the thickness of the waffle-weave stitches of the foot and leg of the sock.
