Product Details
Shawlands was inspired by my love of black tea, and is named after a tea variety from the Shawlands Estate in Ceylon. It is hearty, robust, comforting, and warming — like snuggling inside on a chilly autumn’s day with a cup of tea and a good book.
Shawlands is a generously-sized shallow triangle shawl worked from the top down in two colors of DK-weight yarn. Increases are placed on every row at each edge and on every third row on each side of the garter-stitch center spine. Stockinette stitch and lace in the main color and sections of garter stitch and eyelets in the contrasting color alternate throughout the body of the shawl. A lace border with a picot bind-off finishes off the design.
The pattern is written with both metric and US terminology. Both written and charted instructions are provided for all stitch patterns.
Gauge: 18 sts x 26 rows = 4" in stockinette, blocked.
