Product Details

This is the second in my series of shawls based on Charlotte Bronte characters. Proud, spirited and just a little dangerous, Shirley Keeldar is the rich heiress of the Charlotte Brontë novel of the same name.

Construction & skills; This is a top-down heart-shaped shawl (that is, like a triangle, but with a much wider, curving wingspan). It begins with a traditional flower lace pattern, chosen because it was sourced from a lace sampler of approximately the same date as the writing of the novel. This is true lace, patterned on both sides without resting rows. The second section is easier.

My red sample is worked in a silk & merino aran yarn by an indepedent dyer. Any natural fibre aran yarn will work here.

Also available as part of the Charlotte Bronte Shawls collection.
