Product Details
Feminine lacy socks inspired by the legend of Silverheels with a picot cuff and dance hall dress lace,
A women dressed all in black and a heavy veil arrived in Buckskin Joe (a booming silver mining town in the Colorado mountains) and took a job as a “fancy lady” at Bill Buck’s dance hall. She wore beautiful silver slippers and was a favorite of the miners.
In 1861, Buckskin Joe was struck with a smallpox outbreak. Silverheels stayed and nursed the miners and their families through the epidemic. Just as the epidemic was coming to an end, Silverheels fell ill. She eventually recovered but the smallpox scarred her beautiful face. The town was grateful and wanted to reward her for her generosity, but she vanished and was never seen again.
In her honor the great peak standing over Buckskin Joe and the whole South Park basin was named Mt. Silverheels.
