After watching the rain beat at the windows yet again, I wished the raindrops would turn into snowflakes, which made me think of Christmas. I'd been wondering what to knit for Christmas for my grandniece and nephew, one aged 1 year and the other aged 1 month. That's when babies, hats and snowflakes came together in my mind. I was so pleased with the result that I wanted to share it.
This pattern involves knitting stranded colourwork (often referred to as Fair Isle {although Fair Isle knitting has more rules}).It needs good concentration, but it produces amazing results. The two ridges provide a nice frame for the snowflakes, which continue all around the hat.
If you haven't worked with stranded ccolourwork before, there are plenty of YouTube videos to inspire you. Enjoy!
