Product Details
Celebrating an integral part of Canadian history in honour of our country’s 150th birthday, this hat features a wide brim of cabled canoes and a crown formed of cabled paddles. In a land where outdoor enjoyment often requires a little extra insulation, don your woolies and get out on the water.
The brim of the hat is worked first in one long strip, starting with a provisional cast-on so that it can be seamed with the opposite end using a three-needle bind-off (tutorial links included).
Once seamed, stitches are picked up around the top edge of the brim to knit the crown of the hat. The top edge has one selvage stitch, which makes it easy to identify each individual edge stitch when picking up stitches.
Pattern includes full written as well as charted instructions.
Special Techniques: Cabling, provisional cast-on, three-needle bind-off, picking up stitches along a selvage edge, knitting in the round.
