A circle but not a circle! This two-colour spiral only becomes a circle when you get to the end.
Make it at any size, in any yarn. It is ideal for using up a limited amount of yarn as you can stop spiralling at any time. It is knitted in one piece but there will never be more than 30 stitches on the needle.
This may not be suitable for a complete beginner as there is one slightly tricky bit at the start. Once you get past that stage it is very easy. It is a very portable project. As you work on a small number of stitches you can keep the rest of it bunched up and do not have to keep picking it up and turning it all round.
Unlike most of our designs, Spinning a Yarn needs blocking when complete.
The cushion version is approximately 16” (40 cm) wide. I knitted it to use up the yarn I had left over from the afghan. It will have a plain back. There are no specific instructions for the cushion but it can be made using the rules given for varying the size of the afghan.
