About the Design: This adorable tea cozy has spout and handle openings, so the cozy can remain on the teapot, whilst pouring, and comes in 2-3 and 3-4 cup sizes. This is an advanced beginner project – the stitch pattern is mostly Stockinette, with a pattern round of dropped sts – quickly learned. I used this stitch pattern to design the Strawberry Baby Blanket, so it may be familiar to some knitters already. The openings have a single crochet edging. Four leaves, an I-Cord stem and I-Cord vines, with newly forming white berries, embellish the top. White seeds are stitched on after the knitting is complete.
Gauge: 1) 14 sts and 20 rows = 4” (10 cm) in St st, and 2) 12 sts and 24 rows = 4” over stitch patt, using 2 strands yarn held together and size 10.5 ndls or size to give gauge. To save time, take time to check gauge.
