Product Details

This shawl design was inspired by the atmosphere of big cities like New York, Chicago or London. Skyscrapper, glass fronts and wide avenues influenced the idea. The name STADTLEBEN is German and means city life. The focus was on a plain look with interesting elements. It should be a modern allrounder for every occasion and for anybody.

The shawl has a rectangular shape and it is knitted flat from one end to the other. It can be worn as a wrap shawl around the shoulders as well as a scarf around the neck. Three stitch patterns are used in this pattern – Stockinette Stitch, Seed Stitch and 1x1 Ribbing. The edge stitches are worked using an I-Cord technique shown in the pattern. 1x1 Ribbing hems the beginning and the finishing edges.

Following basic knitting techniques are needed: Long Tail Cast On / Knitting and purling stitches / Simple Bind Off Following special knitting technique is shown in the pattern as a tutorial (photo and text): I-Cord Edge Stitches
