When I was a new knitter I was baffled by the technique of knitting waste yarn into a mitten to leave a thumbhole- as a not-so- new knitter, I wanted to see if that technique could be used for style! Each pink stripe is knitted into the row, passed back, and knitted again with the main yarn, allowing you to work in bits of color without doing any stranding. You don’t need to break the pink yarn, either- just carry it up behind the work. No floats, no fuss!
