Product Details
If knitting were music, the stitches would be the keys, and the repeats would be the time signature. If knitting were music, a simple two-by-two rib could be translated into the Key of C (no sharps or flats, just natural notes), in 2/2 time, (or cut time). Changing just a few stitches (the notes) to cables or lace (sharps or flats) the entire musical world is at your knitting fingertips. Syncopation, in music, is the displacement of regular accents associated with given metrical patterns, resulting in a disruption of the listener's expectations and the arousal of a desire for the reestablishment of metric normality; hence the characteristic “forward drive” of highly syncopated music. Changing the “beat” or knits and purls creates a syncopated rhythm to the front of these socks.
These socks are worked from the top cuff down through a heel flap with gusset to a modified wide toe. Experienced sock knitters who have a favorite heel or toe are highly encouraged to use them.
