Product Details

These T-strap Mary Jane type shoes are designed to fit the long feet on any of my Painted Cricket animals. They start at the middle of the sole and work up to the strap and button.

As a bonus, I’ve created a YouTube video that will help you see how to knit and assemble these shoes.

You need to have…

Yarn in desired color and the same weight as that used for the animal you knit: (~.5oz/15g for DK or sport weight; ~1oz/30g for worsted)

Straight knitting needles at least 2 sizes larger than those used to knit your animal. (I find the size recommended for the yarn being used often works well.)

Scissors, row counters, and tapestry needle

You need to know (or learn)…

Stockinette stitch

Garter stitch

Short rows for the hips (instructions included)

Increase and decrease stitches

Mattress stitch for sewing seams

Notes
Any yarn size or color works; use needles larger than those used for knitting the animal so your stitches are stretchier for the clothes on the animal
