Textured Toddler Sweater

This sweater is SO MUCH FUN TO CROCHET!!! The luxurious slip stitched cables and bobbles are so stretchy and elastic, and it is so rewarding to watch the textured design appear like magic! The neckline stretches easily over a toddler's head, and then returns to it's original size for a perfect fit. The underarms are roomy and the whole sweater is stretchy and soft. A slip stitched sweater is engineered in a whole different way than a conventional sweater, but the pattern is easy to follow and you will be surprised how wonderfully it comes together! Although this pattern is written for any Worsted Weight yarn, textured crochet always consumes A LOT of yarn, so it’s best to use a Worsted Weight that doesn’t weight a lot (like washable wool), and avoid any Worsted Weight that is heavy (like alpaca). For best results, use a yarn that is of a solid color or subtle tweed that is tightly stranded. Novelty, self-striping, wildly variegated, or loosely stranded yarns are not recommended.
