Welcome to my debut design - the Frankenheel Sock! Months were spent in focused development - I wanted a sock that combined the fit of a traditional ‘heel flap and gusset’ with the aesthetic of a short row heel - the Frankenheel is the result. It doesn’t entirely look like either but I am happy with the result, and the yarn worked with the design beautifully.
The Frankenheel sock is worked toe-up and combines multiple heel techniques to achieve, what I believe, is a very nicely fitted heel for anyone who has average to deep heels.
Sizes toddler (T), child small (CS), and child medium (CM) should do fine with one skein of yarn for the pair. For all other sizes small (S), medium (M), large (L), and extra large (XL) you will want two skeins.
I tried to be as detailed and clear as possible with the instructions. There is a lot covered here, so take the directions just one step at a time and they will guide you to a beautiful new pair of Frankenheel socks!
