This lovely cowl is my perfect comfort knit, that I designed for my evening knitting time. It's the time of day when I really want to knit, but my brain needs something gentle and relaxing.
I love to play with colour, and stripes allow you to do that in a way that is easy to customise to your own taste.
The pretty ribbing and cute eyelets add interest, and really make you want to get to the next stripe as quick as you can !
As I was knitting the cowl, the eyelet detail made me think of big wide owl eyes. The decrease in the middle cleverly makes a little beak, and so The Owl Cowl it had to be.
The cowl is knitted using fingering weight yarn. One skein of the main colour and then 6 x 10 g for the contrast sections.
