Product Details

The Tideline shawl is an asymmetrical shawl inspired by the British coastline and the work of potter Roz Dowen. She regularly uses colours and textures inspired by the sea and the beach near where she lives in West Wales. This shawl is constructed side to side in garter stitch with some simple but graceful colour changes throughout. The uneven columns represent the unevenness of nature and the constant change of the tide.

This pattern is suitable for an enthusiastic beginner as it involves colour changes and increases/decreases. The entire shawl is knit using garter stitch.

Materials: 1 set of 3.75mm (US 5) needles.

100g (700m/760 yds) of lace weight yarn such as Blacker Breeds BFL lace. I used 2 x 50g balls:1 ball of shade Moonlight Gourami (CC) and 1 ball of shade Blue Tang (MC). 350m (380yds) per ball.

When blocked, shawl measures 184cm (72.5 in) at longest side, 45cm (17.75 in) deep, 80cm (31.5 in) 182cm (71.5 in).
