Product Details

Sock yarn can be knitted up into any number of other beautiful accessories and garments, like this cowl and matching fingerless mitts. The short rows accentuate the fabulous stripes and patterns in the yarn.

The cowl is worked mainly in the round, starting and ending with k2, p2 rib. The slits are formed by working ‘to and fro’ in rows in stocking stitch edged with garter st to accentuate the pattern within the yarn.

The elbow-length fingerless mitts are worked in the round, starting at the fingers. After k2, p2 rib and a few rounds in stocking stitch, the thumb holes are formed by working back and forth in rows to leave a slit. The long rib cuff is shaped with increase stitches so the cast-off edge at the elbow is

wider than the wrist. It can be worn to the elbow or folded back to create a shorter double cuff.
