Trieste is a city and seaport in northeastern Italy and throughout history has been influenced by its location at the crossroads of Latin, Slavic, and Germanic cultures. The birthplace of my mother and where she lived as a child until the family was re-located in World War II. She swam in the sea and this pattern ripples like the waters.
