Product Details

The instructions in this pattern are written for knitters who knit left-handed, that is, when they knit the stitches move from the right to left needle as they knit.

If you are a left-handed knitter who knits right-handed, that is your stitches move from the left to right needle, they you should purchase the standard pattern.

These cute fingerless mittens and cosy full mittens are knitted in a chunky yarn that shows the texture of the twisted stitches beautifully. Both styles of mitten are knitted in the round with mock side seams, which avoid a jog in the stitch pattern. These ‘seams’ flow up from the rick-rack rib, through the Vikkel braid to the woven stitch pattern. The fingerless mittens are shaped using a one-over- two cast-off that also minimises rolling of the edge. The mittens are finished with a special cast-off that mimics the ‘seams’. The folk-style thumbs are knitted last, with no shaping necessary.
