Product Details
Vicariously was originally designed as a Christmas sweater for my son. Only thing is we live in Australia and Christmas Day is invariably ridiculously hot with not a chance of a sweater ever being worn. But why should he miss out on the joy of a Christmas sweater just because it’s too hot to actually wear it? Realistically, this is more than just a sweater for Christmas time.
Construction:
Vicariously is a seamless circular yoke sweater knit from the top down. The yoke is initially shaped with short rows before melding into a stitch pattern that sees the colour alter gradually. This is created through simple colourwork that is addictive and flies off the needles.
Instructions for the yoke are both written and charted.
Techniques used:
knit and purl
Increasing and decreasing
Alternative tubular cast-on
Working in the round on circular needles
Working small circumferences in the round
Working from charts
Picking up stitches
German short rows
Stranded colourwork
