GENERAL INFORMATION
This hat is worked in the round using two stitch cables and slipped stitches. Whilst the pattern is written for the two-colour version, you can just as easily use a single colour, simply ignore the MC and CC instructions! The hat has a lot of stretch and will bounce back, due to the slipped sts in the pattern. If you want to modify the pattern to suit your desired fit, it’s a good idea to read all of the instructions on pages 2 and 3 before you begin. You can adjust both the circumference and brim to crown but bear in mind that adjustments will change yarn requirements.
For a two-colour hat: Choose two very contrasting yarns, light vs dark in the same colour or different colours works very well. Avoid using yarns that complement each other because they have colours in common. For a single colour hat: a solid, mid to light tone, will give the best definition.
