Product Details

Use up all your oddments and make a feature of the knots ... or make a smart plain version with new yarn.

This is the ideal afghan for using up those leftover bits you’ve been saving or odd balls of unloved yarn. If you have available children, keep them occupied with a pile of bits of yarn from one colour family and asking them to join short lengths to make a large ball. This will help them to learn the skills of cutting, tying knots and winding balls. You could also incorporate measuring although random lengths tend to give a better effect. The yarns should all be of approximately the same thickness.

The afghan in the photos was made from very short lengths of yarn, making it very striped. If you use longer lengths you will get more blocks of colour.

This afghan is unusual because it has seven sections. Most have six or eight sections where you can create symmetrical colouring patterns. This one needs seven different colours.

It can be made to any size you want, on straight needles.
