Make the hat alone, or add the scarf for added warmth. The scarf has pockets in the ends to warm your hands, or so you can pretend you can fly. The Hat alone takes about 400 yards. The Scarf takes an additional 300 yards. There is an option included to finish the scarf into a triangular shawl. Pictures included of many of the steps. Written in American crochet terminology.
