Product Details
The World War Two Evacuee Tea Cosy is a charming glimpse at some children's lives during World War two when they were evacuated. The poor little darlings were parted from their parents and sent by train to live out the war in less dangerous parts of the country.
This tea cosy can be knitted to make a girl or a boy evacuee, the pattern includes the both hat style which determines the child's genda. The hats are removable for a bit of fun.
The children are wearing a burgundy duffle coat, a red hat and they have with them their gas masks, labels, suitcases and teddy bears.
I love social history and I think the stories of evacuees of the time are so touching. They make me think of the beautiful films 'Carrie's War' and 'Goodnight Mister Tom'.
The second world war evacuee tea cosy fits a medium sized teapot that covers a Teapot that holds 6 to 8 cups or 2 pints.
This product is the knitting pattern only to make your own second world war evacuee tea cosy.
