Product Details
Oh, what a fun hat! Simple stranded colourwork produces an offset zigzag effect on this striking beanie. The pattern uses simple charts and is suitable for knitters with little or no experience of colourwork. The pattern uses small amounts of each of the two contrast colours, so is a great stashbusting project.
Yarn Required Heavy DK or light worsted weight yarn in the following quantities (given in yards): MC: 80 (85, 95); CC1: 30 (35, 35) and CC2: 25 (30, 30)
Gauge Gauge is measured in the pattern stitch, worked in the round over the larger needles. Most knitters will achieve gauge with a heavy DK or a light worsted weight yarn.
Finished Hat Measurements Circumference: 20” (22”, 24”); crown to brim: 8.25” You can resize the hat easily by adding or subtracting multiples of 4 sts when you cast on.
Note: some testers found that their hat worked up small. Bear in mind that many knitters work more tightly when stranding knitting. Check your stitch and row gauge carefully.
