    About

Asked to make an item for the Christmas Fair for a friend's charity, local group supporting families with autistic children. I picked up the yarn dirt cheap in the sale because it was missing the band but I believe it's King Cole Splash. The buttons in the jigsaw shape (symbol of Autism) came from my button box.

Simple mitten design although I elongated the wrist part. To prevent a bulky seam at the thumb gusset, I put the stitches onto spare yarn then knit them into the hand section. To prevent an hole at each end, pick up a loop where you can see an hole and K2tog.

You can knit a pair of mitts in a day and they are always brilliant sellers at charity sales. Add a cute button for extra impact. A pair took less than 100gm so ideal to use up your stash.
