    About

Having seen Lynne T’s brilliant bikers, Pat’s Gnelfy was the perfect choice for the giant. It was fun creating his punk look to match the Usborne illustration. The figures were a combination of Dollytime, Knitted Fairy Tales and Gypsycream patterns, adapted to match illustrations. The cow, hen, harp and beanstalk were from Sarah Keen’s Knitted Fairy Tales. Sewing up is my least favourite part of knitting, so all those fiddly little pieces seemed to take forever. I’m hoping the teachers don’t put Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs on the story sack list! The photo was taken at school with my youngest grandson for the end of term newsletter. Unfortunately my other grandson at the school was in isolation on that day, with the rest of his bubble.

Another wow! Sue. I just love then all but how you've transformed Gnelfy is brilliant. I'm making him at the moment but as a Christmas Elf. I know what you mean about all those small pieces I've recycled all my Alan Dart patterns bar a few so that I'm not tempted. I start off with good intentions then it comes to the making up and I regret starting. But then I haven't got the pleading faces of grandchildren 😁

Thank you, Christine! 😊 Loved customising Pat's pattern. Looking forward to seeing your elf. I'll be using the Alan Dart witch and cauldron for Room on the Broom, so expecting them to be a challenge! I think school has many more story sacks lined up for me, but I'm hoping the teachers don't choose books with lots of characters. 🤞
