    About

A very interesting pattern from an old Phildar (1977) with zippered collar - very trendy now!
It's a man's pattern so I had to be careful with sizing. Opted for bigger body and smaller sleeves, so used two different sizes.
Construction - deep raglan. All pieces are made separately and put together later (amazingly interesting process!).
The yarn - Rowan Alpaca Cotton - was bought ages ago and naturally is discontinued now. I didn't have enough to finish and used Rowan Alpaca Classic instead for the collar and triangular insert at the front. Alpaca Classic is much thinner which made aligning and sewing in the insert easier. Also it helped with zipper and collar - I knit it twice as long as needed, folded over to cover zipper's fabric, and then knit 2 thin stripes along zipper from inside. Sewn in, they hid zipper completely.
I bought this zipper from PetiteKnit because I couldn't find anything similar anywhere else (Amazon, Etsy). Any suggestions on fancy zippers are welcome.

Anna, I love your sweater, beautiful workmanship and looks so comfortable. Would you mind sharing the name of the pattern, I looked up Phildar (1977) men's sweater patterns, but had no success. Thank you, and again, well done!!!

        Hi Valerie,
Sorry, I couldn't check this site earlier. Brunoy is a pattern from this magazine
        https://www.aux-doigts-de-fee.com/boutique/n-57-phildar-femme-et-hommes-annee-1977-pdf/
It's from a French website aux-doights-de-fee.com where you can buy a PDF of any old Phildar (which is how I got this pattern in the first place).
