I'm not too happy with the instructions. My tension is not tight yet I cannot for the life of me get a square to measure 17" x 17" - my square measures 10.5" x 9" - ie NOT square!
The needles suggested in the pattern US15 are at total variance with the suggested US9 - US11 and yes - I did purchase the correct wool.
Guess I will have to knit a lot more squares than suggested. Really not impressed.
I am so sorry to hear this! Did you knit a swatch and compared your tension with suggested in the pattern? Might you need to use different size needles to get right tension. Btw my knitting is quiet loose. If I will find some pictures from knitters who followed this pattern and didn’t complain I will post for comparison. Once again sorry about that!
Also I want to ask did you pin out and block each square to size? When you pin, block and dry each square, just then you join using double crochet.
