    About

I love knitting bears and I think these two have been worth the effort although there was a lot of knitting and making up to do! I might do a few smaller projects next I think. I did duplicate stitch for the first time for the heart motif on the blue bears ear. It seemed to work ok.

Other : Wooden heart buttons as per the pattern really make a difference.
I also used blue glass effect eyes which I liked.

Wow, these two are beautiful and such beautiful knitting too. I really love the heart motif on the ear, such a special touch. I especially love their faces, gorgeous.

Thanks Helen, the heart motif is in the pattern but I didn’t attempt it with my brown bear. It was actually quite easy, it’s always the thought of trying something new! I would recommend the Romeo pattern, I’m sure you’d make a great job of it!

I just noticed the wee blue heart in his ear Dianne, I originally thought you were talking about on his sweater. How cute is that.😊😊😊

Thank you Christine, I think I agree with you. I like his lighter snout too. The glass effect eyes are effective too.

I love your Romeo as the Blue Bear too. I have knitted him in red and also put a small rattle in his ear. The teddy eyes give him more character too. I have the wool ready to knit my fourth !

Thank you Rachel. I have just seen your red Romeo bear, he is fantastic, very festive! I hope I can resist doing a red one too! What colour are you going to do your fourth bear?

@Rachel H: that wool is great to knit with and lovely and soft, classic teddy colours too, your granddaughter will have a treat in store!

Thank you Denise, I am pleased with the blue bear too. The cute wee jumper makes these bears I think. I’m looking forward to seeing your blue project!

Ohh he was so worth the effort Dianne, you know I actually think I like wee boy blue the best as the blues stand out more. The wee glass eyes look lovely too. You must be so happy with both of them.😊😊😊

Thank you Michelle, 😊I am happy with the way they both turned out. I gave the blue bear a lighter coloured snout which I think makes him look cute. It’s a lovely pattern but I think i’ll wait a while before trying a different colour way ! I suppose a girl bear could be done in pinks...
