    About

    I liked this pattern,and thought that it would be a great addition to my wardrobe. It knitted up quickly and is really cosy.
    update: I took the jacket with me on a weekend break, wore it with both casual and dressed up clothes, looked great

    Notes: I used Paintbox Aran, colour was shade 214, and knitted using 2 strands of yarn held together. I initially thought that I would need 8 balls but used 12.

    I made a small adjustment to the sleeves- I knitted the last row of the sleeve before the rib as 2 together. The cast off row was k5, then 2tog.

      I am a beginner (again)...and really like the look of the sweater. Is it necessary to knit it with 2 strands of yarn together? I am looking for cosy but not necessarily terribly heavy or blanket warmth. And you used 12 balls of yarn ...what size skeins of yarn? What size did you make for yourself. I am about 5'4 and 135 lb...does this sweater run big so that I would only make a size small or should I make a medium?

        Hi Christine, it's a really easy pattern to knit. The designer has said that it should be knitted with two strands of wool held together which makes a very thick jacket. I would also say that it knits true to size, I'm 5'11 tall and I did not adjust the lengths.
        If you are unsure about using 2 strands of yarn together, there is a similar jacket knitted in chunky yarn called "downtown cardigan" which is really easy to knit.

        I used Paintbox simply aran and knitted to fit 97cm bust.
