Mother Earth's luscious biodiversity makes unrivalled design inspiration! The Flora & Fauna collection by The Yarn Collective introduces four brand new patterns by indie designers inspired by vintage botanical illustrations.

Poimia headband by Fiona Alice

Fiona Alice's gorgeous Poimia headband knitting pattern in Fleurville 4 Ply, features a beautiful blueberry fair isle motif which was inspired by foraging through Finnish woodlands and reconnecting with nature.

'The body of the headband is first knitted in the round. One side of the headband is embroidered with this blueberry plant motif. A few blueberries will be on the other side. The leaves are created with duplicate stitch, the stem with a few chain stitches and the blueberries are embroidered on last. Then the headband is seamed together,' explains Fiona.

Spending time in the forest to forage and gather your own food has been a magical experience. I thought blueberries would be a fitting nature motif to incorporate into this design" Fiona Alice
