This is really lovely. Did it really take 11 balls of the cascade. And also would this go well on a double size bed. I,m looking to make something like this for my daughters new house and am finding the idea of the project slightly daunting.
I ordered 12 and have one and a bit left over - I WILL make that cushion one day - so yes I used 11 but as I commented I did make it one centre pattern longer. I have 11 Dancing Cables so it looks as though that pattern takes about 1 ball of yarn. I haven't ironed or blocked it and it fits almost side to side across our king size bed if I spread and smooth it out, so I think it would fit a double nicely but there would not be much if anything hanging over the sides. If you wanted to to you could always make it wider by adding repeats of the side cables to the edge. I found a chart with the rows for each of the patterns listed was invaluable. I marked off each row as I did it. There are other designs I've knitted where the repeat is the same for all the patterns but this one is particularly special I think.
@Frankie W: Thank you so much for your lovely answer. So informative. I really do fancy giving this a go, so will have to save my pennies for awhile, as I am tempted by your yarn choice, but perhaps in a cream colourway.
