I started knitting this when I was pregnant with Moo. I had knitted all but the left arm when she was born. Life kinda got in the way, 19 years later Moo who was now at uni found the pattern book, and asked me to knit her a warm jumper as uni was cold. So I found the original knitting and completed this jumper, all in all it took me 20 years from start to finish! ????????

This pattern is from:
The Cream of Arans (Shaws The Drapers) — Wendy
That's called perseverance! Bet it was a great feeling to finish - and also to know that in the end it went to a good home. Your daughter looks happy with it too. I have this pattern in my library, I remember loving it - and I still love it, just haven't knitted it! ;)
This is such a wonderful example of how beautiful, classical and functional hand knits never go out of date. Well done Julia. I hope Moo loves knitting too.
@Julia P: I think Josephine with Oh Sheep! started by her grandmother in the 1970's has the record, but yours is a highly regarded second. We need a hot tag for these called intergenerational knitting projects.
It would be awkward if you ran out of yarn and needed to match a dye lot !!!
@Lainie: ahhh well I did all the knitting Moo got the benefit of wearing it. I do however have a inter generational table cloth that my mother in law started to embroider in the 1950's she given it to my eldest to complete.
