    About

I always look for 1920s styles in accessories to go with my bobbed hair. This pattern had some interesting features - the unusual drawstring and what would be my first attempt at cabling. There is also a provisional cast on requiring a crochet hook, two sets of eyelets (for the drawstring), a long I-cord, picking up stitches and a 3-needle cast off. All of the techniques are carefully laid out in the instructions with links to videos. It’s the perfect entry to cabling, and the other techniques keep things interesting.

    Needles & Hooks

    • Double Point 4.50mm (US 7) 15cm
    • Crochet Hook 4.50mm (US 7)
    • Circular 4.50mm (US 7) 80cm

    Accessories

    • Stitch Markers

    Measurements

Notes: The instructions were to complete the cable pattern to around 16”. I ended up adding another 5 repeats (20 rows), making it more like 18.5” round the head fit. This required picking up extra stitches to complete the crown but no major adjustments.
