Hi there, can I ask you a question about the pattern? I've just knitted the back following 1st - 24th row patt and stopped at the designated total length of 6in (for a 1-2yr old). I've now started to shape raglan but the back underneath the arm area just looks way too short! Although, def 6inches. Did you come across this when knitting your lovely hoodie? Thank you xx

        Hi Rachel
I think a raglan armhole ends up nearly the same length as the knitting up to the armhole shaping. When the garment is finished, there is always a bit of extra room below the armholes so provided your tension is right and you are decreasing as per the pattern instructions, I’m sure it will be fine 😉

      Hi Pam,
      You're a beautiful knitter.
I'm just doing the sleeves to this cardigan but as a newcomer to knitting I'm a bit stuck when it comes to the increasing. I'm knitting the 4th size. Wondering if you or anyone on here can help.
May seem like a silly question to all of you experienced knitters but after the rib when it sets the pattern 1-4th row it says to increase on 3rd row. Then the instructions say to inc 1 st at each end of 5th and following 6th row for the size Im making . So here's the question .....Do I STILL increase on the 3rd row at the same time or do I lose the M1 on that row and just increase on 5th then every 6th row. Not very good at explaining myself but hope you can understand. As I say probably obvious to you but ???
      Thanks.
Liz...Not sure why I'm listed as Paul...that's my husbands name. x

        Hi Liz
I would increase on 3rd row and then on the following 5th row (forgetting all about 3rd row after the initial 3rd row increase)
and then every 6th row. Hope this helps.
Thank you for your kind comments.
Would love to see your finished cardigan.
        Pam 😀

This looks really lovely. I have always liked this pattern and hope to knit it sometime. Little toggles will really complete the look. I also spend ages searching out the best buttons as after all that work you don’t want to spoil it!

I've had this pattern for some time but this is the first time I've used it and I must say it was such a lovely pattern to use. Normally when I've finished a garment, I breathe a sigh of relief that it's done and I hardly ever use the pattern again for a long while. However I am really looking forward to knitting this one again, though perhaps I will knit the collared version with hat to match.

I agree, the wrong buttons spoil the finish
Just sorting out buttons for my lastest project - trickerer than you think :-)

Of course... Have ordered little wooden toggles on line as I've found it tricky to find grey ones that are the right colour. Think wrong buttons can spoil the finished look.
