      Is there an error in the Left Front instructions? It seems that we need to knit an extra row that is not instructed here. Love this sweater, but I am needing some assistance.

        KNIT ONE ROW
        Dec 1st at the beg of the next and every following 4th row until there are 23 (25)sts

        @Daisy: Before I get too much further into this, I'd like to double check to make sure I understand this line correctly - "Dec 1st at the beg of the next and every following 4th row". Does that mean the beginning of the next row (which is the first row of the color stripe) and then every 1st row of stripe following the 4th row? If I read it to mean every following 4th row, the decrease seems to be on the wrong side. Thank you for your patience. I'm fairly new to knitting so I don't always understand some of the instructions as more experienced knitters would.

        @Marybeth L: Please don't worry about contacting me, I like to help when I can;
        As I understand it, you have dec your 3 or 4 sts for the armhole, then knitted 1 row as I said early, we are now back at the armhole edge.
        Dec 1st at the beginning of the next row, knit to end.
        Then knit 3 rows, (keeping colour pattern as before)
        On the 4th row dec 1st at the beginning, knit to end.
        Repeat the last 4 rows until you have 23 or 25 sts depending on which size you are knitting
        Please don't hesitate to get back in touch if anything is not clear.
        We have all been new to knitting at some point and I want you to enjoy my pattern

        @Daisy: I'm doing pretty well and overall my first sweater is looking really great. I wish I could send you a photo but I am not sure how to do that. Another question though. I got as far as sewing the raglan edges together (2 front panels, back and 2 sleeves) It looks good except I have something wrong with the neck edge. After I sewed the pieces together I realized that both neck edges are going the same way instead of the opposite. Should the "higher" end of the neck edge (the part done after the decrease of 9) be on the sleeve side? If so, do we use the "higher" end to place the pick up stitches to begin the hood?

        @Daisy: I am so close, but.....The photo on this feed showing the back with all the pieces sewn together and the needle holding stitches at the top has been most helpful in showing me where I have gone right but also where I am not understanding something. I didn’t have this photo on the original pattern.

        My Tommy hoodie looks exactly like yours until I get to the top of each piece. I end with different colors according to the # of rows so each piece is off by a bit and not matching up. Since I am doing the multi color stripe version that you show, using the colors stripes to guide me might help me.

        1) “Dec 1st at the beginning of the next row, knit to end.
        Then knit 3 rows, (keeping colour pattern as before)
        On the 4th row dec 1st at the beginning, knit to end.
        Repeat the last 4 rows until you have 23 or 25 sts”

        If each color stripe has 4 rows, does the above instruction mean, decrease at every 1st row of the 4 rows in the stripe? That is how I am interpreting it.

        @Daisy: Also, for me.. 66 rows has me doing 16 full stripes plus 2 stripes of next color. Then I finished that stripe with the Cast off 3 row & a knit row before beginning the raglan edge. That combination row of 2 regular and 2 cast off and knit was a grey stripe. Does that part sound like I have it correct?

        @Daisy: I spent some time charting out the instructions. My back and sleeve panels are matching with your instructions and photo. My problem seems to be with the front R & L panels. Those aren't working out for me. I am beginning the 69th row (after the knit and cast off 3 rows 67 & 68) I have 29 stitches to begin with and no matter how I interpret the instructions, I'm unable to end where you do.

        @Marybeth L: hi Marybeth, I'm away on holiday at the moment so don't have access to the pattern to follow the stage you're at.
        I can't tell you what colour it should be as I knit several sizes so that changes with each one. What I can say is the fronts will always end with one colour change less than the sleeves, that's down to the shaping

I have the sleeve 1 color shorter as you said. I have my problem narrowed down to the front panels as having 4 more rows than what you show in the photo so my pieces don't match the way yours do. Other than that it looks great. There must be something minor I am missing. Thanks again and hope to hear from you when it is convenient for you.

        Checking in to see if you have returned from holiday and have had a chance to take a look at the pattern. The rows and stitch numbers are not matching up for me. I am doing the original size with the multi-stripe. The pattern seems to be off by 4 rows somewhere.
