What you'll need
Product Details
Banse is a fairly easy shawl that combines garter stripes and lace elements, each of which elaborates on the previous one to make the picture created by eyelets a consistent one: you start with a bud, then watch it grow to arrive at a flower in its full bloom.
Lace elements are intuitive, thus making it a great project for less advanced knitters who want to practise their skill of lace knitting and to learn something new. The shawl looks great in ombre yarn as well as in solid colours.
The pattern can be adjusted only in the last stripes section, otherwise you need to follow the rhythm of stripes and lace.
Pictured shawl was knitted with fingering yarn from Kokonki, colour A681 on US 2 ½ – 3,00 mm needles. I used up the whole skein of 270g/9.52 ounces (1000m / 1093 yards) to obtain a big shawl that measures approx. 190 x 80cm / 75 x 31 ½” blocked.
