Product Details

Cepelka was inspired by Polish folk culture, which means lots of colours, stripes and a texture that brings them out even more. The name refers to a chain of shops that used to sell traditional Polish folk art and craft.

The shawl uses two skeins of tonal yarn, one of bright and vivid colours and the other one more dim and dusky to form a background. The length of the colour runs does affect the final result, and if it is too short / variegated you won’t get the striped effect. My shawl uses Lana Grossa Magico II Meilenweit #3509 as main colour and #3523 as background.

Tonal sock yarn would be the best choice, you can also use tonal fingering or sport but keep in mind that it will affect the size of the shawl. The pattern flows intuitively, you need to refer to the instructions at the beginning of each RS row, otherwise it doesn’t require a lot of concentration.

Blocking is very easy; just hang or lay flat to dry, there is no need to pin.
