What you'll need
Product Details
Marcik is a small triangular shawl that is easy to wrap around and to stay put. The shawl is done in stockinette stitch with a lace section running along one of the shorter edges of the triangle. The section combines lace and texture to give the pattern this additional look of relief stitch which is also featured along the other shorter edge. The shaping begins with just a few stitches and maintains a steady rhythm along the wingspan edge to produce a symmetrical triangle. The shawl is quite easy to knit and it becomes intuitive once the main pattern is established.
Yarn – any ranging from light fingering to sport. A solid or long gradient yarn is recommended to showcase the lace section and to set it against the stockinette background.
Gauge is not crucial and depends on the yarn and needles you choose to knit with. My gauge is 24 sts x 30 rows in stockinette after blocking = 10x10cm / 4x4 inches.
The pattern was tested by several native English knitters.
