Product Details
About the Design: This is a great skill-building design. The main technique is short rows (wrap & turn), worked in garter stitch. I knit two samples, one short and one very long. It’s the kind of design that you can just knit until your yarn is used up, if you want to, and not worry about the length. Cascade Yarns Ecological Wool is used in the long version and Patons Grace (mercerized cotton, 136 yds/50 gms), held double, is used in the shorter version.
Gauge - Short Scarf: 14 sts and 16 rows = 4” (10 cm) in Stockinette with sport weight yarn held double and size 10.5 ndls
Gauge - Long Scarf: 16 sts and 20 rows = 4” in Stockinette with aran weight yarn held single and size 10 ndls or size to give gauge. To save time, take time to check gauge.
Substitute Yarn Weight: Short Scarf: Sport (used double) Long Scarf: Worsted to Heavy Worsted
