This is a simple, fair isle hat, great for a first time fair isle project! It is knitted in the round, and all the shaping happens outside the fair isle sections, so you don't have to worry about doing more than one thing at once when you're learning a new skill.
This is the ideal hat for the average lady with a head circumference of 22 inches, although it can easily be adjusted to fit men.
I designed this hat when my auntie was going to a wedding with a hat contest. She asked me to make her something that was inspired by a wedding cake, and this is what I came up with. Naturally, she won the contest, so this is a winning design all round.

- I used King Cole Majestic DK for the hat shown in the photos, but realistically any DK yarn should work for this. Play around with different colours!
