Product Details
• the poncho and shawl, made along similar lines, are a fun knit: you start at the top, increasing on certain rounds/rows with the sparkly mohair and then work rounds/rows of lace patterning to make a fun, worsted weight poncho or shawl
• poncho is worked completely in the round – only finishing is tucking in the ends.
• shawl is worked flat, starting with a small tab and then carrying a patterned border while repeating the pattern rows 5x across.
• the mohair blend used has sequins so you get a bit of sparkle – the stars at night – while gradually increasing the number of rounds/rows using the mohair
for the shawl:
o approx 320 yards worsted weight wool (sample shown used Rowan’s “Rowan Tweed” in “Malham” – 4 sks)
o approx 177 yards mohair blend (sample shown used Rowan’s “Kid Silk Haze Glamour” in “Blood” – 1 sk – this yarn has sequins to add just a touch of glitz to the final garment!)
