Product Details
Written pattern. TWO patterns are included in the price the lilac dress is the original Farthing Patterns FP 22, the turquoise dress has a reworked deeper V-neck.
Materials required: Dress - Size 19 (1.00 mm/US size 00000) knitting needles, 65 yards/62.5 metres 1-ply yarn, stitch holder. Snood - Size 16 (1.5mm/ US 000) knitting needles, 12.5 metres 1-ply yarn or sewing cotton (makes work more open), very thin elastic such as shirring elastic, 0.75mm crochet hook (optional).
Approximate finished sizes: Dress - 1-inch/2.5 cm wide at waist, sleeve 1¾-inches/4.5 cm long, height – 4¼-inches/10.5 cm. Snood - 1-inch/2.5 cm deep by ¾-inch/2 cm wide after elastic has been added.
Gauge – Gauge is not important as dolls house dolls (like humans) vary greatly in size and proportions.
Historical notes: The dress is designed for the younger woman with a wide swing skirt; the ribbing would fit tight to the body with a slightly fuller upper bodice. This dress dates from 1939, before wool rationing.
