Product Details
Written pattern.
1:12th scale knitting pattern for a ladies evening gown c.1933 for a female dolls house doll.
Materials required: 70 metres 1-ply cotton, size 20 (0.9 mm) knitting needles, small crochet hook to work edgings, small buckle for belt.
Historical note: Evening gowns of this period did NOT reach the floor, but finished at ankle length. Low backs were very fashionable and the look was feminine and stylish rather than the boyish looks of the 1920’s, with full skirts and draping fabric. A full length or shoulder cloak, depending on the season, would have covered the outfit.
Gauge is not important as dolls vary in size.
Some simple crochet involved for edging armholes and neck.
