Product Details
Written pattern.
NOTE: This pattern contains dropped stitches and travelling stitches so is NOT suitable for a first project in miniature knitting.
There are not many stitches traditional to England but smocked or mock smocking stitches were common in knitting patterns from the 1600’s.
Materials required: one pair size 19 (1 mm/US size 5/0) needles, 25 metres (27.5 yards) 1 ply cotton or wool, cable needle, small amount of stuffing material. The cushion shown is worked in 1-ply cotton.
Finished size: approx. 1½-inches/3 cm square (including frill).
Gauge – Gauge is not important for this project as cushions can be any size in reality. Makes a lovely small pincushion as well
