Knitted in chunky West Yorkshire Spinners wool this is an extra warm hat which will keep you cosy while you enjoy being outdoors on cold crisp days. I have knitted this hat in neutral colours but it's always fun to experiment with your favourite colours.
The main body of the hat is knitted in double rib changing to stocking stitch for the shaped section. The stocking stitch section uses only knit stitches due to the pattern being knitted in the round. This makes an interesting but easy to knit hat which is ideal for those new to circular knitting.
I used a large pom-pom maker which needed approximately 30 grams of wool to create a bigger pom-pom but a smaller one will look cute too. For the main body of the hat one 100 gram ball of wool was plenty.
