Give me a thousand kisses.” --Jamie Fraser, from the Latin poem Catullus 5

At the beginning of Season 4 of the Outlander series, based on book four, Drums of Autumn, Claire is robbed of her wedding band. It was made from an old key to Jamie Fraser’s ancestral home, Lallybroch in Scotland.

Later in the season, in a very romantic scene, Jamie gives her a new wedding band, made from a silver candlestick that had belonged to his mother Ellen MacKenzie Fraser. Inside he had it inscribed with a phrase from a poem written in Latin, “Da mi basia mille”, meaning “Give me a Thousand Kisses”.

So, for Valentine’s Day 2019 I give you a lovely, romantic one-skein scarf, “A Thousand Kisses”. This light and airy scarf has a boomerang shape, with an easy, and very pretty stitch pattern.

I used one skein of the absolutely gorgeous Malabrigo Mechita in the color “Cereza”. You will need one skein of fingering or sock weight yarn that is at least 420 yards.
