This pretty slouchy beret was inspired by delicate Japanese knitted lace and featuring an intricate every-row lace pattern that flows up from ribbed edge. Knitted in the round from the band up.
Finished Measurements: 18"/48 cm brim circumference. 8"/20 cm height from base of ribbing to top-center of the crown. Fits average adult head sizes 20-22"/51-56 cm.
Gauge: 30 sts and 34 rounds = 4”/10 cm on size US3 (3.25 mm) in lace pattern, after blocking.
Tools: Size US1 (2.25 mm) and size US3 (3.25 mm): 16''(40 cm) circ. Set of double-pointed needles of size US3 (3.25 mm). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain gauge. 11 markers, tapestry needle, waste yarn.
Materials: Fingering weight yarn (approximate amounts): 290 yards /261 m. Pattern Style: both written and charted instructions using common knitting abbreviations. The lace pattern is charted only.
