Product Details
Stalks of blooming aloe vera plants are what I see in the stitch pattern on the front of this sweater. On the sleeves, a similar but narrower pattern. And to add to the swoon factor - pretty eyelet ribbing!
Style-wise, this cardigan is a classic. It’s knit flat from the bottom in one piece, separated at underarms. Ribbed buttonband is worked as part of the sweater body. Slip-stitch crochet for buttonholes to stabilize front edge. Neckline band is attached I-cord. Sleeves are worked separately and set in. Cable decreases shape the sleeve caps and “full-fashioned” shoulders.
Sizes listed are of finished sweater, buttoned. Recommended ease: -2 to +2”. Shown in size 32.5 worn with -1.5” ease on a 34” dress form and with -1” ease on model.
Techniques used: Tubular cast on, reading charts, lace knitting, cable decreases, short rows, crochet slip stitch.
Pattern includes: Written instructions, schematics, glossary, Aloe Vera stitch patterns are in charted format only.
